Then a crisis in Bergen, and walking a very grey you around for a short walk prior your operation! Pleased that you came to that little farewell do in July 2020! Dear Steve, It was a shock for me to hear about your death few days ago. I've been shifted the entire day, sad, angry. You have no idea how you've been a friend, a mentor and a leader for all of us. I am quite certain that there is not a single LWD engineer in Norway whom didn't benefit from your knowledge, your expertise, your absolut calm under pressure, and your sense of humor. I recall, a long time ago, 10 years ago -ish, having a conversation with a MWD trainee about a way to calculate and input mud's parameters. Using my own experience, I disagree with the trainee's feedback about it. Then she said: "Steve told me". I looked at her. That was the end of the discussion/argument. 'My bad' I said! Because everyone knows Steve cannot be wrong! From Jan 2006, when joining Schlumberger, I use my first tally book to capture/sum up/note down tricks about programming, trouble-shooting ideas and hints, best practices, and so on. My own SLB bible somehow... And I've realised few days ago that there are a lot of "Steve's" notes in it. Your input. You'll stay with us my friend for as long as we work here, and beyond. It was a total privilege to cross your road and have the pleasure to enjoy your talent and friendship. Farewell my friend. You will be missed. Greatly.

Steve... I`m so sorry to hear about you passing. You were, and still are, a legend for everyone working with you. Your present and your great knowledge will be missed by so many people. We all knew that if you were on the job, everything was taken care of and I believe most people found it relaxing to work with you, knowing that you took care of it all. We will remember your humor and laughs. You have made deep traces and your memory will live on. My deepest sympathy to your family.

Steve. A lifetime of working together. Too many highs and lows, laughs and grumbles to remember. Always a smile and a joke, and legendary work ethic of course, perhaps setting the bar too high for the rest of us! Your passing too early and the loss to us, your colleagues, cannot compare to the loss to your family. You'll not be forgotten.
